Snails on Coir Pictures courtesy of Mark and Vanessa Towers.
Fertile Fibre Coir blocks make a great substrate for terrariums and enclosures for iguanas, chameleons, turtles, tortoises, amphibians, snakes, lizards and spiders. Indeed we know these animals seek it out - we have even had the occasional snake turn up in our large containers – perfectly unharmed and only a little grumpy!!
Our coir blocks are made solely from compressed, organically certified, coir. They are easily reconstituted to provide the perfect moist substrate to suit a wide variety of species. Coir is non abrasive to skin and eyes and is not toxic – so completely hamless if ingested. As a bonus our coir looks great in a terrarium or enclosure providing a natural looking environment.
Of course, once used, the coir can be easily composted or spread directly onto the garden as a soil improver.
To use : simply place a block in a tray or bucket and add approximately 3 litres of water – warm water works faster. Leave for 1 hour to expand fully, wring out excess moisture if desired and use. Step by step video to guide you HERE.
