Testimonials from Fertile Fibre users...
It’s great to find a certified organic compost that is reliable and pleasant to handle. I really like the feel of it. As a bonus the company are exceptionally friendly and helpful to deal with. Her books include ‘Grow Your Own Vegetables’, ‘The Organic Salad Garden’ and ‘Creative Vegetable Gardening.’ She contributes to many gardening magazines including the Royal Horticultural Society’s ‘The Garden’ and ‘Kitchen Garden’.
The National Trust, as you know, is a leader on conservation issues, so we haven’t used peat for 15 years. Nowadays we use Fertile Fibre for propagation. Nice stuff, it’s clean to handle with a consistent texture from one batch to another. Some of our plantsparticularly herbs and food plantsare grown organically, and additives found in other non-peat composts can present a problem. No worries with Fertile Fibre though. I’m very excited to hear about their new coir pots, as these can be planted complete, with no worries about disposing of old plastic containers. We get good results with their Nu-Gro fertiliser for our citrus collection, autumn and winter. What’s more Fertile Fibre is a nice company to deal with. Neil Cook www.nationaltrust.org.uk
I take a strong interest in ecology, and grow to organic standards, and I can depend on Fertile Fibre. I’ve tried a variety of other peat-free composts, but without doubt Fertile Fibre beats the lot: clean and light, not heavy or sticky. For me as a commercial grower, its dependable consistency is very importantI know that it will help produce good quality healthy plants. Thanks to this good basic beginning, I get many compliments from my customers, saying that my plants just shoot away. The company is great to deal withfriendly helpful and efficient. Coir blocks go into our own compost: an overnight soaking in a plastic wheelbarrow, and they’re ready to use, then combined with sterilized soil. This helps grow our crops of tomatoes, cucumbers, leeks, potatoes and peppers. Also their bagged ready-to-use multipurpose compost, and seed compost are ideal for bedding plants and herbaceous perennials. We offer this for sale in our shop too. Their 5F manure helps produce good results. A nice company to deal with, excellent service, I’ll recommend Fertile Fibre to anyone.
