Quality Control and Traceability

Posted on

We take quality control very seriously. We are able to show full traceability on all ingredients.

Products have to pass stringent tests of use and conformity before they are allowed to enter our production process. We keep samples of all products. These are required for our annual audit by The Soil Association. Individual batch numbers are logged on all products supplied to customers. An analysis of each sample is carried out randomly.

Traceability in all our processes

We can give you information on:

  • When your individual bags or products were made and delivered
  • Where ingredients came from and when
  • An analysis of the closest sample to your compost

We can supply a full organic traceability from delivery to despatch.

Samples taken

Fertile Fibre also tests each product’s density. This is important for the accurate measuring and mixing of your compost. A sample is taken on production. It’s tested for pH and conductivity. Only then is the compost is then deemed fit for purpose.

All analyses are reviewed by Mike Daly from The Agrology House.

Regular trials

We also regularly trial all composts and products.
